Mojo-Arrogance

From the darkness...

So I wonder if anyone still reads these.  To all my DA friends; I am sorry to have been away.  I missed a host of brilliant creations by your skilled hands, and for that life has been all the more bland.  I look forward to catching up.

Life is funny.  The curve balls thrown your way.  The way things work out... or don't.  I suppose its in how we deal with the difficult obstacles that truly define us in the end.  In challenge is growth, the essence of life.  all that.

I had everything that I thought I was supposed to have: Wife, family, dog, house, yard, car, good job.  the American dream, as it were. And in reverse order it seems I lost them.  Over the last few years. So much faster than it took to reach that point, they were all gone.  Like sand in the grasp, they seemed to slip away faster the harder i tried to hold on.

To say I was disheartened would be putting it mildly.  GAF meter was at an all time low.  To the point where the very will to create had escaped me.

So what changed? Eveything.  Freedom replaces security, and drive returns in the absence of comfort.  It took time, but life regained flavor that I had thought lost forever.  And as for all the material wealth now gone? As it turns out, you can't take any of that shit with you when you die anyway.  But the ability to create, that is a gift given by the Universe itself.  God, if you prefer.  So when the ashes of my so-called life had settled out, and everything seemed lost, it was this Mojo, as I like to call it, that came striding back to me in the darkness.  Back from the dead.

And Mojo wanted to draw.

So I haven't been around much lately.  To my few friends here on DA, I apologize for my absence.  I am honestly amazed at how much ass kicking you guys do in just a few months.  I've got a lot of catching up to do.

So I may a bit backwards from most people, but I try to spend as little time as possible indoors during the winter.  I'm a snowboarder; in fact 'a recovering adrenaline addict' may better describe my relationship with and devotion to the sport.  And here in the Utah mountains, the months of November thru April are sacred.  During this time all must take a back seat to the all important timing of the winter storms and the little pieces of heaven that they deem us worthy to recieve.  When there is snow in the mountains, thats where I'll be.  Hence my absence.

But alas!  As all good things must come to an end, so must the seasons.  And as the snows become less frequent and the sun moreso, I find myself drawn once again to one of my other great loves; art.  With all the welcomes and friendly words, it kind of feels like coming home.  Thanks.

I was lucky enough to get in on 's next big OC fighting tournament: 2 Dollar Fighter angelcrusher.deviantart.com/jo… .  This time around I'll be fielding a new character: The Man mojo-arrogance.deviantart.com/… .  He's more or less just a toungue-in-cheek reference to my dim view on government, and a villian that everyone can hate.  Check out the tournament, its sure to have enough mindless violence and debauchery to satisfy even the most discerning tastes.  And I hear tell the winners will be decided through some type of popular vote this time around.  We'll have to see how that goes... Should be fun in any case.
